I read this passage this morning and it really hit me hard.
Isaiah 31:1-
Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the LORD.

How often do we depend on our techno world to get us through life. We can flip a switch to get us through something, but sometimes it can't really fix the issue at hand. We rely on the ATM to give us cash when we need it, we rely on our cars to get us to and fro, but what do we actually need to rely on to get us through the day. In this passage God wanted Israel to depend on him and his church. We need to look to other Christian friends as well as look to the Lord to help us get through. We need to not be so self reliant but submit ourselves to Christ and his will for us. He has shown me what he can do for me, I just need to let become real in my life more often than not.

I'm starting to think about how I can kick start this diet thing. So hear I preach to myself to not try to do it by myself but use the strength of the Lord to get me through. I pray the Lord will give me the direction I need to make his temple healthier for his sake. I'm sure my kids and wife would like for me to stay around for a little longer.
